Carbonara Orzo Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound pork belly
  • 1/2 diced white onion
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 16oz box of orzo
  • 1-1 1/2 cup of chicken bone broth
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 oz pecorino cheese
  • Cracked pepper n salt to taste

Recipe Directions

  1. Sear the pork belly in a pan until crispy.
  2. Remove the pork belly from the pan and set it aside.
  3. Sauté the onion and garlic in the pan until softened.
  4. Add the orzo to the pan and cook according to package instructions.
  5. Add the chicken bone broth to the pan and bring to a simmer.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and pecorino cheese.
  7. Slowly whisk the egg mixture into the orzo mixture, until the sauce is thickened.
  8. Serve the orzo topped with the crispy pork belly and cracked pepper.
